Tour In Motion/Feelin The Fall

Woke up at 6am today wide awake. Of course, I hope to be going back to bed, but not fighting the alertness right now. Flipping between a little ESPN and James Bond on USA network (Bond girls are so not ugly).
First night of the US Fall Tour was great. Always nice starting or ending a tour in your hometown area. LA with the band definitely got it going well. Excited to play my hometown tonight though in San Diego. Getting to play these new songs live is such a great feeling, I wish I could play even more of em, but I'm trying to ease em in and see how they mix with the older material...I heard your requests for tour for songs from my self-titled album you want to hear, I'll be adding a few I haven't normally played on tour for the next run, "Got What We Wanted" among those...
Fall movies I want to see are starting to come out. Really hoping "Due Date" is great, it looks rad, I love the "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles"ish thing it seems to have. "Social Network" and "The Town" are still 2 of my fav movies of the year, so rad! I really thing "Social Network" could win the Oscar for best movie, it has that kind of generational impact and potential momentum to get there...
Still not sure about my Halloween costume. My friend Vic and I have been doing costumes together for a few years but we're taking this year off. We're hangin that night but Vic is gonna bring back his Prince costume and I'll have to figure out what the heck to do. Decisions, decisions...

Alright, I'm finally starting to get tired, gonna go back to bed.

Still need help promoting for the tour, read from my previous blog how you can "Peep Out Your Profile" and help out!

Finally Back On The Road/Starting The Album

This has been a different year for sure in my music life but it's also been one of the most exciting. Writing the songs for this album has been such a great learning experience and so fun chasing the sound that would get me to the next phase in my career. The new songs I've written the last month just have added even more excitement to this album. 3 new songs especially, "Everybody Loves You", "Crazy Tonight", and "The Party" are some of the most joyous stuff I've ever written. Recording starts next week so expect the announcements to keep coming on the album from now on...

Felt so good to get back out on the road this past weekend in the Carolinas and last night in Oregon. Getting a chance to reconnect with everyone is so important and really makes me so freakin anxious for the fall tour...

Summer is coming to an end so I thought I'd give my list of fav movies (I saw a lot of em!)

1. Inception - an obvious choice but this was so well done and trippy
2. The Expendables - it was what is was and that's everything I wanted it to be
3. The Other Guys - definitely one of Will Ferrel's best and everyone in the movie was VERY funny
4. Toy Story 3 - Pixar just tell better stories than the rest
5. Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World - as original as hell, very cool shiz
6. Predators/A-Team - fun, not great action
7. Despicable Me - didn't go into this with high expectations, but very good
8. Iron Man 2 - I really liked it, Downey, Rockwell, and Rourke were amazing but it could of been way better

It's July and I'm ready to record!!

6 months of writing songs...What started as a very scary process of creating an album's worth of material out of thin air, besides one or two songs I had written on tour, is now about 30 songs deep. I've had the fortune of working with some great people so far putting this record together, so many old and new friends have come together to create a collection of songs I'm so excited and proud of...We're getting very close to recording this thing, weeks away possibly, and I feel confident that it'll make my fans happy and hopefully bring me a few more...
I miss the road bad, but this was the right move, staying in LA and traveling to Nashville to write with anybody I could get in the room with, trying to find winning creative combinations, some in the most surprising places...
Stay with me peeps, it's gonna be a fun time ahead...
Going to be blogging more and more now, feel like I need to resurface :)
